Spandex can stretch up to 500% of its original length without breaking and, once released, snaps back to its initial state. Этот "rubber-band" effect is what allows for a full, unrestricted range of motion during any activity.

Standard spandex is a petroleum-based product. Однако, as it’s used in small percentages (обычно 5-20%), its environmental impact is closely tied to the primary fiber in the blend. Always wash in cold water. Hot water can permanently damage the elastane fibers, causing them to lose their elasticity.
Avoid high heat at all costs. Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting, or better yet, hang dry your garments to preserve their stretch and recovery.
Never use chlorine bleach, as it will destroy the fibers. Avoid ironing, as direct high heat will melt the spandex.
